Call to Order by Time: 4:40 p.m. The Budget Hearing was called to order by President Vernon Miller.

Roll Call Present: Vernon Miller, Carroll Webster, Darren Wolfe, Barbara Tyndall and Bertram Walker Absent: Carroll Webster, Sr. and Orville Cayou Carroll Webster, Sr. arrived at 4:42 p.m.

Identification of Open Meeting Act (South Wall) President Vernon Miller stated that the Open Meeting Act in on the Southside Wall in the Distance Learning Lab

The Board of Education President asked if there was any questions or comments pertaining to the Umonhon Nation Public School Budget 2017-2018. There was no comments. IV.

V.

PUBLIC COMMENTS (15 minutes) President Vernon Miller informed the Public that the Board of Education only allows 15 minutes of Public Comments, and the time would be divided up with all that would like to speak.  Richard Sheridan, Jr. informed the Board of Education that he as a School Sponsor he would like to see all Umonhon Nation Cheerleaders to attend all games.  Summer Blackbird informed the Board of Education of an incident that happen during a volleyball game.  Perry Webster had some concerns regarding employment with the Umonhon Nation Public School.

New Business a. Approval to adopt the 2017-2018 Budget as published and presented. Approval to adopt the Final Tax Request as published and presented. Discuss, consider, and take the necessary actions to accept the resignation of Mary Anne Oehlerking, decline her request for medical insurance and letter of recommendation, and to cancel her contract for failure to request a hearing under 79-831. Discuss, consider, and take the necessary actions to approve the Umonhon Nation Public School Parent/Student Activities Handbook. The Board of Education tabled the Umonhon Nation Public School Parent/Student Activities Handbook with changes to be made. e. Discuss, consider, and take the necessary actions to deny access to school grounds and activities to a parent for her misconduct during the volleyball matches at Boys Towns on September 2, 2017. The Board of Education didn’t take action on item (e) Superintendent Mrs. Hardy made recommendations for the following: Warning (to parents regarding action during the games) Mediation The Board of Education agreement to have Superintendent handle the recommendation she requested.

Discuss, consider, and take the necessary actions to require all fulltime employees of UNPS to change over to direct payroll deposit on or before December 1, 2017. Old Business a. Discuss, consider, and take the necessary actions to approve the annual lease payment of $3,150.00 of the school parking lot in regards to Resolution No. 10-17.
